OperaLab Pavilion

Pavilion in a form of 13x13x9m cube is located on the axis of the main entrance to the National Opera in Warsaw. Structure of the pavilion is made up of two modules. An orthogonal grid of connecting modules filling the pavilion block is completed by irregular arrangement of copper sheet panels which provide structural rigidity. The porosity of the outer walls and irregular arrangement of panels allow to control the dispersion of external noise and interior acoustic comfort. Invented structural system makes it possible to both create an outer OperaLab pavilion as well as to build freeform exhibition structures inside the National Opera.
